The lotus is one of the most recognizable symbols of enlightenment in Buddhism and is important in several Buddhist traditions.
According to legend, wherever as a child the Buddha placed his feet, a lotus flower was born. The famous Lotus Sutra is one of the most important texts of Mahayana Buddhism and is the basis of the Pure Land School.
Since the lotus grows in muddy water, it symbolizes the purity of the enlightened mind that arises through the suffering of Samsara. It also represents non-attachment, as it is rooted in mud (attachment and desires) but its flower blooms on long stems without getting dirty with the underlying mud.
The famous Tibetan mantra "OM MANI PADME HUM", means "OM the jewel in the lotus HUM", invokes Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of compassion. In this case, the lotus represents wisdom and the jewel symbolizes skillful means.
Jewel in hypoallergenic 925 ‰ silver. The surface is partially burnished and is neither treated nor plated so it guarantees its beauty over the years.
