The god Quetzalcóatl, revered by the Olmec civilizations, the Miztecs, the Toltecs, the Aztecs and of course the Maya, is a divinity halfway between the bird and the snake.
Symbolically, however, Quetzalcóatl represents the indissoluble union between earth and sky, between natural and divine, between good and evil. It is in fact at the same time a bloodthirsty god, to whom many human victims were sacrificed, and a giver of life. The feathered serpent, for the Egyptians as for the Aztecs, also represents contact with the world of the dead and also for this reason it represents a symbol to be respected and venerated.
