The gesture is obtained by joining the thumb and forefinger between them in both hands, forming a circle, the hands are at chest height. This symbolizes the beginning of the teaching of Dharma, exposing the Four Noble Truths to their disciples, this Mudra also represents an episode in the life of Buddha Sakyamuni. In this position the hands are held in front of the heart, symbolizing that these teachings come directly from the heart of the Buddha.
