The dhyana Buddha statue is represented with both hands resting on the womb. The back of the right hand rests on the palm of the left hand. Often the thumbs touch, forming the mystical triangle. This is the meditation mudra, which symbolizes wisdom. The Buddha used this position during his final meditation under the Bodhi tree when he reached enlightenment.
