The Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is a tropical tree that grows wild in some areas of Central and South America and is cultivated in the regions of Ecuador and Peru.
Its name derives from a particularity linked to its flowering, which takes place on Christmas day.
To preserve this protected plant, the collection of its wood, considered beneficial, almost sacred, occurs naturally, in full respect of the environment and of the tree itself, as branches already fallen to the ground for 4 to 10 years are used. dried naturally, as young trees do not have the required characteristics: to produce its unmistakable aroma, in fact, the trees must be at least 10 years old and naturally dried.
The aromatic stick obtained from this plant is used letting its extremities burn until obtaining a bit of brave and perfumed smoke.
Each piece of wood can be re-ignited several times.
Used in their tradition for shamanic and superstitious rites, for religious ceremonies and auspicious bearers.
It releases an intense and pleasant fragrance, inhibits the diffusion of unpleasant odors, promotes meditation and relaxation, purifies the environment from negativity.
