The Flower of the Apocalypse looks like a kind of flower and is present in many alchemical works of the medieval period. This was the geometric result of the intersection of four portions of circles.
The result is four petals that represent the four elements of nature (Fire, Water, Earth, Air) perfectly balanced. This balance means the flourishing to generate Harmony in this way.
Furthermore, each petal also represents the essence of the four beings of the Apocalypse (Man, Eagle, Taurus and Leo). This represents the unity of the Book of Knowledge that springs from the multiplicity of writings and therefore of the elements.
Gioacchino da Fiore an Italian abbot, theologian and writer who lived in the twelfth century, in his "Liber Figurarum", related to this symbol, places the four circles, the four evangelists or the four elements, on the two rings that represent perfection in the dominion of the two worlds, heaven and earth, upper waters and lower waters.
In short, a perfect harmonic geometry of Creation and of the Divine Man. Furthermore, according to Rudolph Koch, the Flower of the Apocalypse is a powerful talisman against evil forces.
